Whoops...

Wow... where did this past month go?! I have been a seriously lazy blogger! It's been so ridiculously nice lately and I've been so crazy busy that I just haven't had time.

I have been working like a crazy person! I have a full time job at a non-profit arts organization during the week, but I also work part time as a server at a local sushi bar. The extra money from serving goes towards fun stuff like vacations, concerts, and of course, clothes! That way I don't really have to touch my paychecks for anything other than bills, rent, etc.

And with all the nice weather the last thing I've been spending way less time in front of the tv and computer. I live within walking distance of tons of restaurants, shops, and bars (and the two most important places- a snow cone stand and an ice cream shop!). Needless to say, I've consumed my fair share of snow cones this summer. Best combo thus far- cotton candy, blue raspberry, and watermelon. YUM. Now I'm craving a snow cone...

Cooling Off

Man, it was HOT this weekend! While I really enjoy summertime and everything that comes with it (minus mosquitos, of course) the weather last weekend was brutal!

The only other beef I have with summer is that I don't do very well in extreme heat and humidity. As my mom says, I'm a "fragile flower". This is gross, but I sweat at the drop of a hat. I don't even try to look cute at festivals or other day-long outdoor events anymore. It's a total lost cause.

Also, I barely tan and burn to a crisp without my SPF 50 (yes... I use 50... don't judge.) My year round freckles do become PRETTY amazing in the summer though. I used to hate them, but now I've accepted my specks and love them.

On Sunday though, we finally got some relief in the form of a huge thunderstorm. I'm not a fan of storms, but I was so thankful for this one! This entire week has been beautiful as a result. Mid-seventies all week... glorious!

How cool is this pocket watch necklace? I saw it and couldn't resist. Also just to warn you, I was pretty much a walking Target advertisement this day... whoops! I didn't even realize it until after the photos were taken. Slightly embarrassing, but who cares- I really love these pieces together!

Oh Happy Day!

Great news! I FOUND MY CAMERA CORD! After ransacking my entire apartment, I finally found it tucked away in the pocket of a purse. I must have shoved it in there to upload pictures at work one day. Anyway, moving on to the good stuff- photos!

This past weekend Joe and I attended the wedding of- stay with me- his sister-in-law's brother. I think I have mentioned this before, but Joe is a very talented musician. He has an amazing voice and plays a mean guitar. His older brother Chuck (brother-in-law to the groom at this particular wedding) is an even better guitar player, so combined they make a great duo. Joe frequently gets asked to sing and play at weddings (he does a mean Josh Groban ;)) So for this particular wedding, Joe and Chuck played every piece of music for the entire ceremony. They did a great job.

I was just along for the ride, since I only knew a handful of people at this event. It was held at an amazing venue in downtown Indianapolis that overlooks the beautiful Indy skyline and the weather was BEAUTIFUL that night. (I'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but Indy has been getting hit with horrible thunderstorms lately- no fun!) I took advantage of the beautiful night and backdrop and had Joe snap a few photos of me.

More Bad News

Ugh... this whole camera thing is getting really annoying... Here is the update on the camera status: My fantastic, awesome boyfriend made the trek to retrieve my camera for me so I didn't have to (yay!), I started taking lots of photos again and was so so so excited to have new outfits to post... But then tradegy struck (again). Last night I spent over an hour turning my apartment upside down searching for the cord to upload pictures. I can't find it anywhere! I don't know where else to look either. I will do another sweep of my apartment tonight but I'm thinking I will probably have to break down and purchase a new one. UGH! So unfortunately, my pretty pictures will have to wait.

There is something I am really excited to share with you though! I have seen news about this floating around the internet for a few days now, but today For You, For Me shared a link for a free download! Is anyone else as excited for the new Jenny and Johnny album as I am?! I just listened to their single, Scissor Runner, and it is the best happy summer song!

Rifle Paper Co.

Yep... still don't have my camera back yet. Tonight I am making it my sole mission in life to rescue it from Best Buy! In lieu of having any recent pictures to post, I thought I would post about something (or rather, a company) I have been head of over heels for since I first saw it on A Cup of Jo.

How cute is everything from Rifle Paper Co.? They do everything from stationary, greeting cards, prints... and soon they will be launching their wedding invitation sets! Although I am not engaged (yet), I can't get over how amazing their wedding line will be. When I do get married, I want the wedding and everything leading up to it to really showcase our tastes and personalities. These invitations do that perfectly. Each invitation is completely unique and special. I also love that they are personalized and so vintage looking. Mom, if you are reading this... mental note! ;)

Save Jake

Have you heard about this yet? I just saw this on Bleubird Vintage and couldn't resist. This is Jake and he is sick. Knowing how much I love my own pup, I can't even imagine what I'd do if I were in the same situation. I actually tear up just thinking about it. Needless to say, I totally just purchased an apron (especially since I've been wanting one for quite some time now...) and urge you to do the same. Each apron is $20 and the money goes to help Save Jake.
