Wedding Season Find

With wedding season upon us, I found myself once again searching for the perfect dress. Thank goodness this year was easier than last year! Last year one of my best friends from high school got married and I scoured two malls and every online shop I could think of before I finally found a dress to wear!

Fortunately this year I have discovered Ruche through Jen Loves Kev. Have you guys ever visited Ruche? It's seriously amazing. They have adorable summer dresses there right now and they are all really reasonably priced!

Next month I have two wedding weekends in a row... The first weekend I will be traveling to St. Louis to see one of Joe's best friends tie the knot, then the weekend after that is my best friend, Taylor's, wedding in Chicago! This new dress will pull double duty... serving as my dress to wear to the St. Louis wedding and my dress to wear for Taylor's rehearsal. Super pumped! :)

Finally!

The title of this post sounds a bit more dramatic than it actually is... but I don't care, because I'm excited. After months of searching and missed opportunities to buy it online, I have finally purchased the nail polish of my dreams!

Essie Mint Candy AppleWhile I realize I'm months behind on the jade/mint green nailpolish train, I don't care. I still love it.

Next on my list of must haves:

A new pair of TOMS. I have the classic red canvas ones. I actually bought them back in 2007 at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, TX. It was the first time I had ever seen or heard of them and now they're everywhere! Which is awesome because it's such a good cause. Did you know that for every pair of TOMS you buy, a pair is donated to a child in need? I really like the pattern on these! So cute for summer!

And this B Electro shower gel from LUSH sounds too good to pass up! I have been extra tired lately (blame it on the grey weather and daylight savings time change!) and I could really an extra boost in the morning!

Purple Haze

Yesterday was another super snowy day! It looked as though we were living in a snowglobe for most of the day. You can even see all the little white snowflakes swirling around in these pictures. Seriously, is it spring yet???

On a happier note, I have successfully conned the boyfriend into taking pictures! So far he's been a really good sport. Hopefully once spring rolls around, we can take more time with the pictures and hit up some different locations around Indy. I also have to point out that I'm totally rocking blue jean leggings. The first time I saw other bloggers (Katy of Kansas Couture and Jen of JenlovesKev) wear them I wasn't sure... I ended up finding a pair (on sale!) at New York & Co. and the minute I put them on I knew I had to have them. They are the most comfortable "jeans" ever. And they really do look like blue jeans! They even have a button, back pockets, and seams down the sides. I'm hooked.

Bright White

This is what I wore yesterday. I received this skirt as a Christmas gift and have only worn it twice. It's slightly tricky to style, I think. I never know what color to wear with it! Last Saturday though, I stopped by H&M and picked up this grey shirt. It matches the skirt color almost perfectly, so I figured monochromatic on top meant I could try to pull off purple tights on the bottom! Usually I reserve bright colored tights like this for weekend nights out, but yesterday I wore them to work. Surprisingly, everyone at the office loved them! Anyone have any suggestions about styling this skirt for future wears?

I'm obsessed with this shirt, by the way. I love the lace detailing on the puffy sleeves. And it was only $9! Looks like I might be making another trip to H&M this weekend to pick up a couple more colors...
Overall, I was pretty pleased with yesterday's outfit. I'm looking forward to a fun weekend. The boyfriend is in a band (The Last Good Year- look them up!) and they have a show tonight! And it's Valentine's Day on Sunday. I'm not really into Valentine's Day... for a couple of seasons. 1. I do sort of agree with the whole "hallmark holiday" arguement. And 2. I think you should do nice things for your significant other year round! While we're not doing anything too special, we are planning on the mandatory V-Day date night, which is always a good time. Anyone have any big plans for the "holiday"?
